Overview:
Go Green in the City 2017 is the 7th edition of the ultimate global student competition
You are invited to join the premier student competition for sustainable energy solutions. Solve real-world business challenges from Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation with a strong focus on sustainability.
Connect with Schneider Electric
Twelve teams of finalists from around the world will be sponsored on a trip to the grand finale in Paris where they will connect with employees and learn more about what it’s like to work at Schneider Electric. The winning team will receive a job offer from Schneider Electric and an opportunity to visit Schneider Electric offices around the world*.
Eligibility:
Only university students eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of submission of the Initial Application are permitted to submit their proposals.
Students worldwide must be registered in a bachelor’s (at least the 2nd year), master’s or MBA program of business or engineering are eligible to compete in the Contest.
Schneider Electric’s customers, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, and their respective employees, officers, directors, representatives, agents, consultants, contractors and their family members are not eligible to participate. Schneider Electric reserves the right to limit, or restrict upon notice, participation in the Contest to any person who fails to comply with these Rules and Conditions. The Contest is open exclusively to individual students in teams of two, of which at least one team member is female. Both of the team members must study in the same country for the duration of the competition. They are not, however, required to be from the same university, nor are they required to study the same subject or be in the same year, as long as they are not in their first year of their undergraduate education. Likewise, the students are not required to be permanent residents or nationals of the country in which they are studying in order to compete. Should an individual student Entrant be disqualified, that Entrant’s team will no longer be able to participate.
Awards:
For winner:
Members of the winning team will receive an opportunity to work with Schneider Electric as well as to visit Schneider Electric offices worldwide. In addition, winners will also receive an invaluable experience as they interact with Schneider Electric business leaders and employees, and learn from these professionals to map out the perfect career plan.
For Finalist:
All finalists are invited to the final event in Paris; all travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by Schneider Electric.
The final event promises to be an extremely rewarding experience with action-packed days of business workshops, networking events, city tours, presentations, venue visits and more. In a culturally rich and engaging environment, students will get to interact with Schneider Electric employees and top management, build a strong and lasting professional and personal network, learn about the business and advanced technology from experts, and at the same time develop key skills through various workshops and activities. And if that is not enough, you get to enjoy the unique and vibrant atmosphere of Paris!
For Semi-Finalist:
Semi-finalists will get an opportunity to work with a mentor from Schneider Electric and a chance to complete a digital interview.
Go Green in the City’s mentorship phase, for competitors who advance to the semi-finals, is not only a unique opportunity to benefit from the expertise of Schneider Electric employees but also to gain insight into our corporate culture and extend your professional network.
Here is what former participants say about the mentorship:
“The experience with our mentor was worth it. He supported and motivated us in each step. That was the best part of the semi finals round.”
“Schneider Electric is the best place to work. Our mentor made us realize that through the most intellectually stimulating discussions I have ever had.”
“Our mentor is amazing and I learnt more about business case with him than I learned at college. I have no words about how amazing he is.”
