Overview:
Thought For Food invites the world’s brightest, most passionate next generation innovators from around the world to take the lead in solving one of the biggest challenges facing our future: how are we going to feed 9+ billion people by 2050?
TFF is building an Community of changemakers from all walks of life dedicated to making the world a better place. Together, we are scientists, designers, inventors, artists, farmers and foodies. We are digital media gurus and engineering wizards; doctors, politicians, business leaders, architects, social entrepreneurs and more.
The 2018 TFF Challenge promises to be a bigger, better and even more mind-blowing experience than ever before!
How it works:
1. Sign up
First, you need to register to take part in the Challenge. Make sure you and your team of three to five people, between the ages of 18-35, are signed up by the May 4th deadline!
2. Work on project
Utilize the free Design Thinking Lab to help take your team’s idea and turn it into a reality. Activities include talking to customers, ideation sessions, and building prototypes.
3. Submit your Pitch
To enter into the Challenge, you must submit your Pitch by May 4, 2018. This includes two video submissions and some short text questions. Expert mentors will be available to help coach teams to submit their pitch before the deadline.
Benefit:
- The ten Finalist Teams will receive an all expenses paid trip to the TFF Global Summit and participate in the TFF Startup Bootcamp, a prize valued at $10,000.
- $10,000 Grand Prize. $7,500 Runner-Up Prize. Selected by an esteemed panel of judges, based on which teams have the largest potential to help feed 9+ billion people by the year 2050.
- $5,000. Selected by the Kirchner Food Fellows, based on which team they identify as the most promising to invest in.
- $2,500. Selected by the Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture, based on which team they identify as having a strong impact directly on farmers.
